Story
Magic Kaito is the story of Kuroba Kaito, a 17-year-old student who is also the legendary Kaitou Kid (Kid the Phantom Thief). This thief is famous because he sends messages to museums (or any place where is any valious object), with an advice. Obviously, the police, and specially official Nakamori Ginzo (self-named "Kaitou Kid's worst enemy") tries to arrest him and they never can.
Nobody except Kaito and his mother know why does the Kaitou Kid steal things, but there's a very special reason behind it: his father, Kuroba Toichi, used to be KID when alive, and 8 years later he finds out he was the Kaitou Kid, and decides to take his identity to make the people who killed his father pop up.
However, Kaito still goes to school, along with Nakamori Aoko, Ginzo's daughter. They are childhood friends, and have a crush on each other, but they express it in a totally opposite way. Aoko knows him like anyone in world, except for the fact that he's Kid. Kaito hides it from her just to not make her suffer.
Later, there's a new girl in Kaito's classroom: Koizumi Akako, a black witch. She gets obsessed with Kaito and is very close to find out his secret. She also wants to kick Aoko out of the way, but it's impossible.
Finally, to make things even more difficult for poor Kaito, we have Hakuba Saguru, a student from England who is also a brilliant detective. He's also very close to Kid's secret (and to catch him too), as he also enters Kaito's classroom.
